Maybe I didn't speak clearly.  The changes in this rev mean that the next version will be EXTREMELY uncompatable, but a lot of the changes that were made were intended to make it less likely that future versions (after the next one) will be uncompatible with this (next) one.

Basically, a lot of the stuff that breaks save compatability was crammed into this release, so that future releases WILL be compatable.
