God, Hippocarps. Just speaking, reading, writing, or thinking the name crumbles a fortress to abandoned ruins.

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

There is one that tops it. It destroys whole civilizations and worlds alike with just the world. Doomsayers scream and kings shudder at the terrible words that are:

skeletal hippocarp

At the end of the day, I don't think his main goal is to sell Dwarf Fortress, its just to create the best game possible.

By speaking these words, the universe will implode upon itself:

Actually, they're properly called Carippoparpamus, or Carippo for short.

Reference to this post (with further reference into it's origin):
Here's a little something I made while dwarfing the forums. A little bit of bastardization of nature in a very dwarfy way.

Behold, the worst thing to ever encounter... Bred by yours truly... The n-th wonder of the world:

A CARIPPOPARPAMUS!!!!

Carippo for short

EDIT:
I'll try to color it in when I have some free time.

And to further top it off; How's about a Skeletal Titanic Giant Cave ArachniChiropterUrsaElephantiCougaguarCarippoUniDracoTentaculatMare?

My brain, eyes, and hands would bleed trying to render that.

actually, i was thinking more along the lines of:

Skeletal Giant Carippoeagpotamalaphant

(skeletal giant carp-hippo-eagle-elephant. Someones got some serious identity issues here... and some really effed up genes...)

or maybe a:

Carpippogonlephagle

Its all your worst nightmares rolled into one. THIS is a real dwarves pet. (Carp-hippo-eagle-elephant-dragon.)

We need to figure out a way to mod in cross-breeding.

And then make them have the same attributes as cats.

Let's not forget to allow them to have nuclear reactors for stomachs.

Nuclear reactor for a stomach? That would be one beastly pet...

That wouldn't be a pet, that would be a demonic god.

When Toady implements breeding, I'm going to breed cats with spiders and turn a catsplosion into the most efficient means of defence ever created.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Make it a Carpippogonlephaglebold so it can have Trap Avoid and the ability to pick locks.
