Yes, Tvtropes, the biggest time waster the internet has ever known. It deserves it's own topic.

Tropes are devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members' minds and expectations. On the whole, tropes are not clichés. The word clichéd means "stereotyped and trite". In other words, dull and uninteresting. We are not looking for dull and uninteresting entries. We are here to recognize tropes and play with them, not to make fun of them.

No its been around. Stealing our souls because ALL OF US just HAVE to read the linked page, and all the pages LINKED to that page, and all the pages LINKED TO THE PAGES LINKED TO THE PAGE.

Its a deadly spiral that continues until you either starve to death, or you burn out from reading.

I haven't seen any deaths resulting from the former...YET...so people must be reading until their brains melt instead, therefore forcing them to spazz the link close so as not to burn their delicate eyes.

TVTropes is good if you have no life and have no desire for a life.

Oh sure, you can pick it up and put it down any time you want.  That's what we all think.  That's what I thought too, that I'd read everything on the site worth reading, with nothing left to hold my interest.  Then I found out Barack Obama has a TVTropes page, as comprehensive as you'd expect it to be.  Goodbye Friday.
