that makes me wish it didn't crash every time I try to open it!
(it plays the opening cinematic, but crashes when it gets to the start menu)

thanks for all your helpful suggestions, but now that my main problem is with getting version 40d13 to work and not getting my graphics set to work (which I assume it will with 40d13) I will probably not need this thread anymore.

Hey, probably you have some problems with DirectX ro graphics drivers.

nah it turns out I had changed something important in the data files when I copied my saves from the old version to the new, but I got the files right and it works JUST FINE now.
