Fey mood: no pig tails on winter!
« on: August 22, 2006, 02:58:00 pm »

Regarding Fey Moods and Strange Moods and similar madnesses: during winters, pig tail thread shouldn't be demanded if there's none of it. You can't farm more of it before summer! It's one more thing you just have to store without any good reason, just in case it's needed for a Mood.

Also, possible bug regarding gems. I have a Mason who likes Turqoises. He wants to do something. He demands three pieces of particular stone (he has onyx, jet, obsidian), bones (cave fish bones), thread (silk thread), rough gems (he took a rough diamond! it's 0*, yes, but 200* when cut... :´(  ), wood (took some), thread (seemingly Pig Tail Thread) and Gems - but he won't take either rough or cut turqoises! He might want a big turqoise, but I don't want to cut the last rough turoise because I think he might want to have the ingredients in correct order, and if I manage to get him some pig tails before he goes mad he might still want the turqoises...

I think you're right about possessed dwarves wanting items in the correct order.  I had a dwarf grab three pieces of shell and then camp the craft shop waiting for cloth; once I got a loom set up and made some cave silk cloth, he grabbed it and then went back for more shell.
