Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

The messenger could be the Avatar of Armok
No, Armok himself, and don't even think about attacking him, not only can he posses any dwarf in the immediate range(And elves in case of emergency),  his blood is pure magma, so even if you hack him to bits, you will have melted by then, and he will have taken over some other dwarf, and in a few days, transform back into Armok.
