easy way to remember how to do norwegian vowels: shift each vowel down once:

so A sounds like awning, E sounds like ace, I sounds like evening,

and then O sounds like over, U sounds like moo, Y sounds like finally(with a more I sound, nothing i can think of in english)

then the extra vowels:

æ is like hat

ø is like burn

å is like poe
