One of the characters in Macbeth was ripped from his mother's womb. It was a major plot detail.

For Makbeth heard from certain witches that he wouldn't be killed by a man born of a woman. And since Macduff wasn't "born" as such...

Although, that spoiler has kind of lost its punch these days now that we do C-sections all the time. At least that's what I think whenever I see Macbeth.

Man, I want to see some Shakespeare again. I wish I had money.

The Romans did Caesarians, but only on dead mothers in the late stage of pregnancy (this meant that, contrary to popular belief, Julius Caeser was not born by this method, since his mother was still alive after his birth).

Besides, some argue that too many caesareans are done nowadays, and that the existing indications might be too lax.
