Another issue is the fact that a rise in temperature will also cause more evaporation, thus lowering the sea level.

The water ain't going anywhere.  That would have a nasty effect on humidity levels.

Anyway, fossil fuels are basically carbon absorbed by ancient plants/ animals/ so on.  If we burn them, we're basically rolling the atmosphere back to what it was before... very quickly.  You may say "Rofl, I don't live near the sea, this won't affect me!".  But it will.  Millions of people will be made homeless by this, and they aren't just going to die happily.  They'll want somewhere to live, and will come flooding into habitable areas.  If they're rejected access?  We'll get wars started.

But... but it's a cycle.  :(

Won't increased evaporation just lead to larger variance in water levels?

Not to mention all the crazy powerful storms.

Yeah, the increased humidity and heat could produce larger hurricanes.

Good. Make it quick. The more technology researched, the more people died, the better the war

Well, I've already seen those.  :-\

Apparently my country's been hit by three hurricanes in the past month. Used to be an average of 10 over six months.

We already have nuclear missiles capable of obliterating most of humanity.  It isn't going to get much worse.

Blizzard is managed by dark sorcerers, and probably have enough money to bail-out the federal government.

What about that Futurama clip that appears in "An Inconvenient Truth" whereby they simply drop a huge icecube into the sea every year?
