1000 FPS
« on: July 30, 2009, 04:27:55 am »

I just ran D13 on my mum's Mac with the fps cap set to 1000 to see if it would work.

It's... beautiful.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Which, at 1000 FPS will probably take something like half an hour.

My first year is always at FPS cap, after a year it slowly declines into 0.

Those dwarves must be moving at near light speed with 1000 FPS

Set their speed to 1 and then we're talking.

Yea, I did that with the mass stone dump. My FPS dropped down to 14-16 or so and they were still going warp factor 10.

The raws!

Where in the raws? It's not under the creature it self.

[SPEED:1]

Does that make them faster or slower? I've never understood the speed numbers.

As the [SPEED] decreases, the actual speed in game increases.

The formula is something like (X+Y)/SPEED

Lower numbers make them faster, higher numbers make them slower. It's kind of counter-intuitive, but do does much of DF.
