DF on iPhone?

i thought i had heard or read something somewhere on the internet that there was a version of DF coming to the iphone...is there any validity in this? anyone know where i can find it, if it exists?

Seriously, not only would that mean that Toady was taking time away from developing DF to release it on a platform that would require a complete code rewrite, there is no way that the iPhone's processor/battery would be able to handle DF. High-end laptops have trouble as it is.

This is actually in a way quite possible, You would simply need to rig up your iphone in conjunction with your computer, and have your computer at home run DF, while it streamed video to your iphone.  There are already remote desktop capabilities with the iphone, and people have managed to play WoW (on their home computer) remotely via their iphone.

Yeah, streaming to the iphone from a real computer is about the only way. A 1x1 fortress wouldn't run on the iphone even if the operating system were able to run it at all, there's just too much going on for the iphone's guts to handle. This is a game which can bring some high-end PC's to their knees...

Not that I have anything against iphones. I have one and enjoy it.

I find your pipe dreams humorous. The iPhone has neither the power nor interface to consider this enterprise, even excluding the fact that it is totally irrelevant to Toady's priorities.

Honestly I don't like it much, but I feel the same way about most cars people seem to like. The Ferrari is a fucking eyesore, for example.
