I wouldn't read this thread if you want to avoid spoilers about MSPA. 

Okay, good points. I'll try to forget this mysterious "blue imp" stuff then.
You know, it probably won't affect my reading experience much anyway, I was just overreacting a bit.

It's not that much, it's just an imp, that is dressed in blue. We're noting this because all the other imps are dressed in red.

My, that does seem to suggest him as kingpiece. Delicious pawns. Unfortunately there is not a complete chessgame shown in Cantown, so we can't get the whole thing figured out.

Since the castling thing seems to be plausible...except you must remember that you cannot pass over the bishop!

Makes sense he would hate kings: The black/evil king is fated to "win without exception", and it seems the future nomad-things know more about the game than has been revealed.
