I don't like the Beta Kids being drawn into the teen drama quagmire of troll romance. I mean, the Alphas already were a teen drama pile, with the single funny punchline of "Jake sure is dumb".

And I don't like endgame ships, if I use that term correctly here. Part of that may be the puerile/juvenile/dumb notion of "ROMANCE (in fiction) IS DUMB AND SMELLY AND FOR GIRLS" which I probably never will fully overcome after pop music and TV pouried enough low quality heartache down my throat to give pyrosis to a whale. (It's like vegetables, I guess.) A bigger part is that I want to see plot-stuff happen and so little of the unresolved romance stuff is plot-relevant.

But Homestuck's an unironic coming of age/Bildungsroman clusterfuck at some level, maybe even with success, so personal relationships are probably hella important to have character development, or whatever. I'm not complaining, just shaking my metaphoric walking stick at the metaphoric heavens.
