I don't think it is, actually. She seems to be saying that ANY contact with a single-prototyped spite leads to an instant playersprite, but back in act 1 John high-fives his with no ill effects.

So what you're telling me is, Homestuck ever since has been the feverdream of a maddened Johnsprite trying to cope with the monster he's become.

This would be the ultimate twist.

Or maybe living subjects need to have the intent to self prototype? That'd clear up that problem. And also not necessarily be something that Vriska knows.

Which would make it particularly hilarious if Rose did prototype with herself now.  The psychoanalyzer would become the psychoanalyzed - JK she seems to do that enough already.  It might even get worse now that there are two of her, and one's coded to be a spirit guide.  I wonder what kernel-Rose thinks about Rose's stupid quest.

And, please, from a powergaming perspective they already screwed up the prototyping when picking Tavros. Obviously, John and Jade should've hopped into one sprite, Rose and Dave into another, and then both those sprites into a third one, creating an unholy being of hideous power and versatility. And they get along well enough to prrrobably only explode after the bossfight!

The leftover Sprite should be a combination of Broskeleton and Derse-Dad, to create a creepy but supportive avuncular figure of fell strength and durability.

From a powergaming perspective I don't see anything that prevents Vriska from going on a trip to doomed time-lines/dream bubbles to collect all the unprototyped kernels.

Or is there some rule that prevents people from taking things out of them?
