This is unexpected, bizarre and pretty funny. But what is in the chest? A bunny? Two bunnies? Half a bunny? Schrödinger's incredibly lethal half-dead bunny? A cardboard sword? Four bunnies?

Honestly, I remember Act 1 to 5.2 with clarity and act 6 only in blurry half-dreams. I suspect all those useless extra-trolls and useless extra-humans and nested Interintermissionmissions gave me brain damage.

So there's a little house inside the chest. But what's inside the house? A bunny?

When John reached into the house,it dislodged him from canon and gave him the power to retcon things. We don't know what the house did the first time.

There's a few ideas.

As of A6A6A5, which explicitly shows the period "AFTER I GET THE MAGIC RAINBOW EYES. AND YET, STILL BEFORE I AM HUGE AND WEAR A DAPPER TRENCH COAT FOR WINNERS", where Caliborn is on his "RISE TO DOMINANT INVINCIBILITY" (emphasis on "rise"), I would say that this is the most likely theory as to what the treasure does.

Also probably makes the alpha timeline defined entirely by whatever allows Caliborn to continue existing or whatever, thus the whole "unfathomable cascade of misfortune" that is so well described in the last page of Summerteen Romance. But that's got less evidence going for it.
