Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

Do the mouth close up remind anyone else of The Simpsons?

Is that where that's from? If not, what on earth is Hussie referencing?

Just imagine this but with Jack and Aranea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMcEBX74AWE

Okay, I actually wheezed laughing when I heard Rose.  I'd forgotten how much I hate the English voice actors for that show.

I was ahead of Hussie on that one, actually. Pages of hope should (but don't because I was a dumb butt when I wrote the raws) be 705 times as powerful as the average person in combat when they're full powered. 705 times as powerful is 170% as powerful as Super Saiyan 3 (but 17% as powerful as super saiyan god; should fix that, hehe) in the DBZ mod.

In related news, I'm bad at stonesense ._.

Update!

Looks like Jake's power level is proportional to his font size.

So apparently Jake as an entirely flawless person is a constant fountain of oldtimey-sounding phrases.

And also an impenetrable laser hope field.
