Surely you mean Chekhovian canons, considering the context.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Actually... It MIGHT technically be possible for her to wipe out the original Alpha. I highly doubt it's going to happen, but she knows the rules here well enough to possibly have found a loophole. The Alpha timeline isn't possible without doomed timelines - Things have been sent back from them in the only sort of unstable loop allowed. And she's from far enough back in the timeline, from the first of the four universes involved, that she might actually be able to make it so that that's exactly what every loop English tried to set up was.

...Of course, even if she does reduce the Alpha to nothing more than one more doomed look into what the future might be. Lord English is just as capable of going back in time as Future!Dave was. And therefore, once her Beta timeline is made, he will already be there.

I just realized the paralell between Vriska/Tavros, and Aranea/Jake. Whereas Vriska just sabotaged Tavros over and over to "help him reach his potential," Aranea apparently has the means to do so for Jake.

I must keep telling myself that this is Aranea, and not the other Serket. The Vriska-vibes she's giving me are that strong right now. It's almost as if they were identical twins or something. Or, I dunno, clones.

Also 'tato.

Update, got through a few panels... and the site's dead again.

Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.

Aranea is outputting some serious power with that 'healing'.

The site is no longer dead, in case anybody wasn't sure.

[Edit]Also, new art style in the last panel, it seems.

I don't think that counts as healing anymore. It's pure hope, Jorji.

I think Derse is about to Hopesplode.

And Caliborn is going to save everybody, much to his own dismay.

Speaking of him, he's actually been a nice narrator. No dismissive comments like the usual narration (towards the readers, that is. The characters were so bogus that they deserved to be insulted), and even encouraging the readers to keep reading his story.

How would you explain Lord English's appearance, then? I mean, the physical similarities between him and Caliborn... even the whole Lord of Time thing, are kind of tough to dismiss.
