I caught up just as Scratch was fixing the disc.  Relatively late I guess, but people kept linking to the Strider Strifes...
I read Act 1 due to those strifes, and totally lost interest.  It was months before I read the rest.  Now it's a big part of who I am, really.

I was there when John was still stuck in his home! (Little before the Ogre fight... I think around the time Rose crushed those imps with a fridge or something).

Hilarious Homestuck old person anecdote: at the meetup on Saturday, one newer dude told me Cascade was "back before Homestuck was big."

I define Homestuck as getting big the instant I started reading.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

The first time (where I got bored when John was in the living room, having just opened the present) I read HS, I would put it at anywhere between late act 4 to all the way done with hivebent.
Second time though, it's approaching my one-year mark of reading.

I believe I started just before cascade came around (I remember my friend playing it while I was still early in the series, thoroughly confused). I distinctly remember CLOSE TOME and Attempt rare and dangerous something or otherX combo being in the newest updates for the longest time.

Anybody know of any progress blogs about the game?
I'm hoping one'll show up eventually, but I don't think any exist yet.

I think I showed up around the time Rose first appeared? I can't remember precisely.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

I think I started reading this about a year ago or something. But I haven't progressed further than the point where the last troll is introduced :P

I'd also love to know but doubt there are any.

I just found out about the 3 remaining trolls. So yeah, I'm now at that point. But the point I was referring to was the robot-builder troll guy. I don't even actually remember most of their names >.<

It gets easier with practice. You were referring to Equius, the best troll of all, just so you know.

I got into Homestuck a little before Cascade. I finished up the archive just in time to experience the Hiatus.

I caught up with Homestuck while John was derping around on the Battlefield. Then I finished up on PS because seriously who doesn't want to read that?
