No retarded meta shit, no annoying teenage drama, nobody obsessing over Jake English, just two funny characters having a funny conversation.

Unless I'm mistaken, one of them is doing nothing but obsessing over friendships and teenage drama, and the other one is being hells of meta.  Or at least hells of referential and too cool for feelings.  Not that I blame him, Dave definitely has the right attitude about all this, but it's substantively not that different from Dirk and Jane's last conversation.  The real difference is just that Karkat is hilariously poignant and these guys actually have some heavy shit to ponder, all things considered.

Now then-
Quote
DAVE: jade will be your friend too cause shes nice and likes being friends with people
DAVE: i can personally guarantee that she will be happy to see you

I can't wait to see this sentiment after it emerges from the Hussnasty Machine.

But Dirk and Jane didn't have speakercrabs.

Shut up, I'm enjoying myself.

Heavy things to ponder.. I'm still not getting it, I'll reread Dirk-Jane because all that I can recall is Dirk fellating Roxy, and Jane feeling like everything is a blur.

I guess it's not easy being 16[?] immortal, all-powerful, thee things at once [dead dreamer, self, father figure-goddog] , and incredibly susceptible to both kinds of Ancestral-Levels of High-Memetic-Control.

Oh Dave, how I've missed you.
That's not to say I don't like the "new" kids, just that sometimes you gotta pay respect to the classics.

Any idea on what she's going to say when she wakes up? I'm betting on it being something horrible.

Please god don't let it be HONK.

Well, a good half of them are not in their right mind, I don't believe the prospects are good.

Besides I thought the gift of gab was the ability of telepathy.

I thought the gib of gaft was the odem of the lord himself, elevating man over the Vermin and Beasts and lowly Trolls that crawl the earth and hunt the sky. It is part of a binding contract that guarantees the payment of fourty(40) virgins or an equivalent amount of old men upon entrance in the houses of Death. It also grants the unique ability to wear a hat and look cool.

Actually, I still think that.

Honestly, Dave and Karkat being close bros is more surprising to me than him knowing about Gamezi or the end of his shitty morailship. Although Gamzee probably still has some plans.

Annnd Dave just remembered me again how thoroughly relentlessy shitty the World of HS is.

The D/K conversation sure was a breath of fresh air.

My only guess is that maybe hussie doesn't really like writing for the B2 kids, so their shit just ain't as funny? Dunno, just how I see it, but it looks like I'm not alone in feeling that way.

Maybe the new group will be less boring when there is actually stuff happening to them?

I think the problem is that the characters just aren't as funny, although Hussie may not like writing them as much for that reason. And actually, when you look at the Beta kids Dave is the only really funny one. I mean, don't get me wrong, Rose is pretty great but she's not a particularly hilarious character. But the Alpha kids don't even have a Dave. They have a Dirk, who is canonically the place where good times go to die.

AR is pretty funny though, dunno how that works.

Probably because he's kinda Dave.  Red text, clone-creation of Dirk, lays on the irony like it's going out of style, hits on Roxy...

Just like Davesprite got Bro's aloofness, orange text, ability to wield an actual unbroken katana, and tendency to leave at crucial moments to go save the day.

Edit: Oh right and AutoResponder is/was frozen at 13 years old.

I'm a bit concerned that Rose has become an alcoholic. And based on her and Kanaya's apparent inseparability, I'm guessing that their relationship isn't totally healthy.

If it looks like a ship and talks like a ship, Hussie will sink it.

Hussie is essentially the Human Torpedo.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.
