I'm probably really slow or something, but I just realized that the reason there are no Alpha kids running around the afterlife is that they don't have a Noble of Time. Without somebody to repair timelines, there aren't splinter timelines to begin with, and thus no alternate versions.

Weeeeell they do have dead dream- and realselves, but only one each so they're easily missed.
