Let's dig around a little in this forshadowing.
The characters are trapped in a terribad fanfic, which proceeds unfazed from their intentions and actions. They have decided to go through with it, but probably will try to BR8K OUT later.
This is appliable to every being in paradox space that has any insight in the path of the alpha-timeline.
To achieve a victory that even counts as a victory, the kids will have to break the multiverse, I think.

The fanfic contains a major character derailement, turning a friend, "Grant" into big bad "Marlevort". The cherubs come to mind here, but also Meenah <--> Condesce, especially since Malefiz is a lot more ambivalent and scheming than LE ever was. Condy might be proposing a similiar deal.
 
We may also see some allusion to void powers here... there are two levels of reality in this wizard story, the fanfic and the snarky protagonists. It feels a little schizophrenic at first. The imaginary reader of the fanfic would only see comic sans and typos, while the actual reader(well, us, since Roxy's fic only exists as it exists in Homestuck) sees the characters struggling... what if Roxy could hide the second level, making everything seemingly run as it should while in truth wizards run amok with handguns?

Protectors of the Plot Continuum is vaguely like this. Basically, agents going into shitty fanfiction and taking out Mary Sues.
