Hey, check out today's panel compared with the last time we saw this style.  Little taller, little longer hair.  It's a nice touch.

Oh yeah, and holy shit.  It's like Hussie decided to finally give service to the bullshit complaints people had about John for a long time.

Here's betting he beans himself in the face with his hammer.

John's face still looks really dark grey to me. I'm probably fixating on nothing, but still. Maybe John is gonna go grimdark? Or something?

If you look real close at his upper left arm, his whole body went gray. It's just that his arms are all glowy at the moment so you can't tell.

Interestingly, this is the first time we've seen any God Tier use their powers in combat. Barring Vriska stealing luck, which was frankly rather boring and not given much fanfare.

Apparently, God Tier is useful for more than just getting a new pair of comfy magic pajamas.

Please, give it a try. You're truly missing out. Even in the eventuality it's just not your cup of tea or you end up finding it unbearable to play, you may still want to to watch/read a Let's play to see the subtle ways it inspired Homestuck.

The major beauty of Earthbound is that once you become strong enough you no longer have to fight enemies, they literally run from you and if you fight them in battle it ends automatically with you getting the XP you would have. It's pretty convenient.
