Heheh, the thread title cracked me up. Didn't get it at first, though. Maybe KS?

Is it sad that I pledged 255$? Or is it awesome? =P

It's only sad if that $255 was food money, or was going to go to orphan children.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Doing another reread. Anybody else boggle vacantly at how much foreshadowing there is during the segment with WV in Act 2?

First, the wall mural has the 4 planets, Prospit and Derse.

Second, when he presses Tab and unleashes the Tab, what happens? Prospit falls down, because it was drawn on the front of that cabinet. Foreshadowing Prospit's destruction and the moonfall.

Third, in his chess game, white loses. This isn't really foreshadowing, just an interesting tidbit.

Makes you wonder if Hussie planned out every minute detail well ahead of time.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Damn, we didn't pass 500,000 before midnight my time. I guess it's time to metaphorically eat my socks.

Bleh.

Still have an hour before its midnight here? Shift your metaphorical timezone? =P

Edit: Or instead of metaphorically eating your socks, really eat a metaphorical sock, and make that metaphorical sock delicious? (Ugh, I spelled that wrong D=)

Clearly, my role as Seer of Time has temporally displaced my intuition.
