Ok, I gave up. Despite that he keeps saying how nice and all the flashes look, he still insists that he didn't like it, so I stopped talking about it.

Obviously the socratic method is in order.

You may like it.
You will see.
You may like it in a tree.
Would you, could you, in a tree?
In a car?  Just look and see.
Would you read it in a box?
Would you read it with a fox?
Would you read it in a house?
Would you read it with a mouse?
Would you read it here or there?
Would you read it anywhere?

I am sure you will get results.

If you try to indoctrinate someone with flashes, then you're completely misrepresenting homestuck. 99% of its content is non-flash, and if you try to recruit someone with an elaborate animation, then that's what they'll expect and will be disappointed and lose interest in short order.

Instead, I reckon you'll have better success if you introduce them to problem sleuth without any mention of homestuck. It's shorter, easier to get into, and (in my experience) far more entertaining.

Also, don't try to push the point too much. If he doesn't like it, then it just might not be his cup of tea, and forcing it down his neck is jus going to cause unnecessary grief.

I just saw that too... perhaps MSPA is finally self-sustaining on merchandise alone? Well done, Mr. H. Well done.

So MSPA is now an adult website...
It was only a matter of time.

Hussie doesn't need the money from the main adspace under the panels anymore, for some reason. The site's not completely ad free yet. The ads in the sponsers box are still there, though.

Maybe he just figured that reducing available adspace will drive up the prices, netting him MORE money.

Hussie's finally replicated the alchemization techniques first pioneered by Dave Strider. For the last 3+ years he's been pumping out a shitty webcomic that actually costs him negative money to create. He's built up such a hefty profit, he now has more money than will be required to maintain the site, ad-free, from now until the end of time. And then also through all of eternity in dream bubbles.

He just keeps the ads he has left for the hell of it.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

So, since all the Jujus in the HTML5 (hasn't got the same ring to it as "the flash") suggest it might be relevant, I went back and read the Midnight Crew intermission. Thoughts: Spades Slick still has Die's doll, which he thought might be useful in taking down LE. Also, we never did find out what that thing in the lower left is, right?

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
