Oh, but Hussie is nothing if not a showman. The update will be a green curtain and a .gif of (heavily symbolic piece of shit).
Then he will wait, an hour or two, maybe a whole day. Everybody comes out of their holes, poking the mini-update, trying to remember how to homestuck again.

Then the flash comes down like a tactical nuke wrapped in sandpaper and shark teeth.

Or the flash is just a loading screen that never ends. And then homestuck is declared finished. The whole 'the best cake ever is the one you don't get to eat' thing. :P

Unless... Oh no. The battle in uu's yogurt shop. If that ended badly, there will be no more updates. Just the corpse of Hussie. Stuffed with yogurt. D:

Do you think that video might encourage my siblings to peruse Homestuck?

I've already had my brother read the entirety of Problem Sleuth.
My sister started PS but, said it was too random and gave up.

FYI I've been talking about HS with them for a year or so.

Show them one of the more epic flashes. Preferably something not related to the plot much. But if you REALLY want to get them in, show them [S] Descend.

Dave: Strife would work well. It's pretty understandable without any background, but still has just enough WTF to pique some interest, I think. Plus, Bro is in it, so that's always good. Downside is, it isn't particularly epic or long, but that might also be a benefit.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

The Striderstrife flashes were what got me interested, but I quit getting to them (or Descend).  It took Gamzee fondly regarding the double rainbow for me to resume and realize I was through the boring stuff.

Some people didn't like Act One & a good amount of Act Two.
Generally because of Sylladex shenanigans. Which was fun, but not really as good as the rest of the comic.

Yeah, a common criticism is that Act 1 and parts of Act 2 were slow and kind of dull. Some people have given up on Homestuck because of that, they weren't willing to go through tons of text to reach the good part.

Maybe I could link them those read aloud things on youtube of Act 1.
I don't know if they're any good, but I could always check them out.
At least that way they could listen to the chatter without having to deal with the colored text.

I remember when I first read HS thinking that the colored text was awful.
Then the aliens showed up. lol I am so used to decoding weird text.

Now when I read badly translated text in ebooks I'm usually more frustrated by the lack of consistency than the actual misspellings.

I just read the last few pages of this thread.

I was going to host some fanart just for old time's sake but now you don't deserve it.

I'm gonna go read Buffet Breakfast for a while, and you all can think about what you've done.

I am not ashamed at all.

Now you give that fanart right now.

And I expect to have at least one picture in there that I can use for purposes.

Wait, what did we do? Was it the shipping ships with other ships thing?
Because I'm not apologizing for that.
