I was just thinking how awesome it would be to make an interactive Sburb encyclopedia, so this is fantastic (except for not actually working for me).  Congratulations, you've done more to make a real Homestuck fangame than literally the entire rest of the Internet combined.

How is it not working?

Kind of funny you would say that, actually.  I happen to have an old project of mine that I hope to get back to someday.  Don't get any hopes up, or anything, but I've got a corpse to throw on the dead-game-pile too.

One has to wonder, when Homestuck finally finishes and there isn't any new 'canon' to be revealed, will fan projects experience a renaissance, keep about the same excepting for the typical decline following a finished piece of work, or just kinda sputter out completely.
And thus the death of the universe is contemplated. :D

I think it depends on how it ends really. If Hussie came back from break 3 and just said "I'm done folks." we would have huge quantities of fan works. If it is a highly satisfactory ending, people won't see as much a need to continue it; and aside from a few 'looking back on it' projects similar to that download from above, it would more or less die. Except for shipping of course. The shipping will never end. After all, there are something on the order of 60+ important or important-ish characters; with another several thousand dead-timeline characters too. Even if we were to go with monogamous shipping, that's a really damn big number. And let's face it; it won't just be monogamous shipping.

Specially, it does load and the Guide works, but "Oh god what" hangs forever, and the other universes manage to draw one spirally line before crashing.

One has to imagine that somebody out there with some serious resources has noticed the holyfuckoff audience to be tapped with a halfway decent commercial product.  Hussie keeps hinting at some "secret project" and I'd bet money it's not just more books.

Oh wow, we're so stupid. Why are we trying to even attempt and formulate the concept of an actual Sburb video game? Hussie's already done it.

*GASP* HUSSIE STOLE MY IDEA! HUSSSSSSSSSIEEEEEEEEE!

All joking aside, if there actually is an SBURB game in the works, and it's done well, I will not be able to throw my money at Hussie fast enough.

Hmm, I've got no idea what could be causing that.  I've updated it to (hopefully) create a crash log in the .exe folder when something throws an exception.  I'd appreciate it if you run the new version and PM me the result.

Well, Homestuck has a lot of room for new stories to be told.  There are already tons of fan projects set in the multiverse, and having a "complete" understanding of how things work probably wouldn't hurt.  I also recall Hussie saying he has something big in mind for when Homestuck is over, so that might help keep the momentum going.

Well, Hussie promised August would be album month, and I suppose he delivered.

Coincidentally, we need an AU where the extended cast of Homestuck all attend/work at a school for the musically gifted.

No we don't.  It's close enough to a High School AU as is, and MarchingStuck already existed.  (Google it, I don't care.)

Anyway, yay album, and with it many great reuses of the same damn themes, and a website remake that doesn't attack my retinas.

Something that's been bothering me recently is that the are no lowercase daedric letters. As daedric is upside-down trollish, how do the trolls with capitalisation based quirks even know they have a quirk?

Maybe their computers use English letters, but when writing, they use the Daedric ones. But then there's no Y in Daedric (unless it was some other letter?), so....

The Daedric Alternian is an ancient, archaic version of the language used by the earliest trolls, and is now used for dramatic effect in modern day Troll media, similar to our Latin in its gratuitously ominous dramatic effect.

Modern Alternian is English.

That would be my assumption.  Of course, Modern Alternian being identical to American English is one of the strangest things in the story anyway.

Maybe lower case letters are right side up, but the "default" quirk happens to be Karkat-style capitals, so we've never seen them used.

Thought i'd drop this here:

When did the ads suddenly become less porn-focused and more homestuck/SBAHJ focused? I think it was around the sister clare ads, but I'm not sure.

One has to wonder, when Homestuck finally finishes and there isn't any new 'canon' to be revealed, will fan projects experience a renaissance, keep about the same excepting for the typical decline following a finished piece of work, or just kinda sputter out completely.

Suprisingly enough, someone captured that sentiment in This piece of fanwork. It's the whole man-homestuck-is-going-to-end-soon sentiment, mainly.
