Jade lives on a tropical island. It makes sense for her to be darker colored than the rest.

Okay so I was looking through that archive and I am just sitting here wondering about that beach episode one, why are Rose and Dave white, but Jade colored? Shouldn't they be either all colored or all white? YOU GOTTA CHOOSE ONE AND STICK WITH IT AAAA

If you're looking at the one that I am, Rose and Dave are just really pale. Jade has a slight tan.
Not to mention Rose and Dave are related to each other, but not to Jade. As long as John and Jade are similar, it's consistent.

I don't care if it's anime or cartoon or whatever style. Beastwars lol

It's be nice if it followed the style of the actual comic but, as long as it was animated in some fashion...
That would be cool.

Pass on SBHJ though. haha

No way. SBaHJ is an integral part of the Homestuck experience, and more importantly, it would be absolutely hilarious in animated form, as it would have just that many more opportunities to be awful. One could even build in digital distortion to make viewers think they were losing reception.

A SBaHJ show should slowly destroy your television until it falls apart.

-obligatory "the sbahj movie was ALREADY HERE"-

I think Radiation's readings of the Halloween and Christmas comics are a good example of what could be done with a SBAHJ cartoon.

Even better, if they were legitimized episodes of the Homestuck show itself. You're just watching these kids playing around with some weird game and talking and shit, when one night you tune in to instead be met by some catastrophic animated abortion of somebody falling down stairs for thirty minutes, and the various warnings pertaining to said stairs.

Or maybe it'd just be the framers coming just before and after commercial breaks. That would probably rob them of fewer viewers.

EDIT: Would it be a half-hour or hour-long program?

If we're having full SBaHJ episodes, definitely an hour. They should precede every climax, except the final battle which should therefore come as a complete surprise.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'd say hour long Homestuck episodes, with SBaHJ playing during the credits. Sburban Jungle would be the Opener. Except for the first episode, which would have none.

I like that last idea, but maybe make SBaHJ a stinger, rather than ending credits? I say that for two reasons. One, because they can then give each act its own Ending theme. Two, the credits would have to be legible, and that's too much sanity for a SBaHJ cartoon.

Nah man, you know how on some networks, they'll occasionally squeeze the credits and run a commercial while they go? We'd have that going on, so the credits would be nice and legible, while nacho partys and stairs hapen.

Speaking of a Homestuck anime, there's a project going on to make a Homestuck anime episode. Yeah, this is an actual thing that they are working on. They've been working on this for about two months now and seem convinced that they can keep the project going until they finish. This sounds pretty cool, and I'm pretty excited about it. Hopefully it doesn't just fizzle out.
