Dirk going to the void when knocked unconscious seems relatively logical to me.  I feel less confused now.  Other things will be explained in time I'm sure.  (dirk and dave have got to share at least two words though!!)

I wish somebody would draw a picture of dirk reciting the ratings scale from that one vgcats comic.

"BROSEIDON, god of the BROCEAN."

Goddamn how do you people keep up with this comic?

I've tried reading Homestuck from the beginning 3 times and each time I just reach a point where I realize I'm not even 20% of the way there and there's still more.

I love the hell out of this comic but holy fuck is it ridiculously long and convoluted.

To paraphrase Brian Clevenger, the best way to read Homestuck is to go back in time to 2009 and read it one day a piece.  Short of that, just set aside a little block of time for it, and spend plenty of time thinking about the plot.  Before you realize it you won't be able to stop, and then it'll be like second nature.

I'd try to get through all of Act 1 in one sitting, since the story starts picking up around Act 2. Act 1 is just a bunch of bullshitting around, since Hussie accepted user commands back then.

It really starts picking up in Act 4, though, so if you're not hopelessly addicted by the time you finish that, then Homestuck probably isn't the webcomic for you and you should probably save your time and energy, since there's two years of comic to get through after that point.

The last time I read, I got up to when the trolls were introduced.

The real annoying part is mainly that Homestuck is EXTREMELY heavy on foreshadowing, so you pretty much have to go back and re-read or you'll get lost entirely.

I just read it all in about a week and a half. :P
Followed by the past 3-4 days of my brain continuing to process it all. "No! Bad brain! You must focus on work now!" "Aw... Okay... " *resumes spacing out and thinking about Homestuck*

Though I did skim many of the overly-long, overly-BS text message spam pages. Who knows, I may end up reading it again. :P

I guess they're not real facial expressions, but they are expressions.

Also, Dirk just jacked Serenity.  What the Hell man.

It's one of the rules of Homestuck. WV can't keep his friends/allies for very long before they either die or need to go their separate ways. This is probably bad news for Dave and Terezi, seeing as they're his only remaining friends.

Yeah Dave.  I hear that.

I think that's about how a meeting with my own post-scratch guardian would go.  Fun to think about.
