You are now Rose Lalonde, captain of the HMS Oxford, operating under the united banner of FICTO, or First Contact Treaty Organization. The Oxford is a repurposed Duke-class frigate, now outfitted with more modern cannons, as well as a guided missile system. You gained captainship of the Oxford when her old captain, Jake English, disappeared one night during a support mission one year ago. He is now classified as Missing in action, presumed deceased.
You signed up for the royal navy a little under ten years ago, as soon as you turned 18. In the past, the thought of a woman joining any part of the military where active combat was a possibility was frowned upon. However, these are different times.
The Human-Alternian war has been raging for almost two years now. You have taken part in many naval battles during this war, such as the battle for Lisbon, an amphibious assault during the more desperate phases at the beginning of the war. It was a massacre, a prolonged bloody battle that ended in FICTO’s forces barely hanging on to Lisbon, and by extension, Portrugal. The second battle for Britain, where you were allowed the privilege to serve on the HMS Bulwark, an aircraft carrier and the flagship of the Royal Navy, was an astounding success, as it drove the Cavalreapers out of the United Kingdom, leaving only a few scattered emplacements in Eurasia. This lead to the final battle of the war, the battle of the Black Sea, where the HMS Oxford spearheaded a surprise assault on the Cavalreapers’ biological fleet moored near Odessa.
Now, the remaining Cavalreapers have retreated to their lunar base, and for the past six months the FICTO and TURO have been devising a way to drive them out of the system.
Of course, do to your… unique powers of intuition; you already know how it will end.
How about we transition to someone who is in a more relevant position, such as a young human girl who pilots a Vital Suit in the future?

You are now Tavros Nitram. Several sweeps ago, you were bestowed the honorable position of Summoner, and were tasked with conquering a newfound planet named Erth, or Eyarth, or something along those lines. You never really paid much attention to the briefing tapes when your fleet was en route to the planet, instead opting to train the newly recruited Cavalreapers and communing with the vast ranks of beasts given to you by Her Imperious Condescension.
Oh, would that come to bite you in your waste chute later, but you digress.
The invasion went fairly routine at first, with the only change being that an up and coming yellow blood named Sollux Captor was allowed to tag along, partly because of a new terraforming machine he created, but mostly because HIC is fucking crazy. So, the temperature on the planet was drastically reduced (producing the neat side effect of disabling most of their technology) and, after a coordinated bombardment destroyed all of their orbital defense systems, your cavalreapers invaded, one half under the command of Sollux going to a large landmass which seemed to be the economic center of the world, and one half commanded by you landing on a small series of islands that would make for an easily defendable position.
You, being the fantastic commander you are, were able to conquer a large swathe of what you now understand to be Europe, while Sollux had a much harder time, probably due to a more unified government and better fighting tactics.
Then, after about half a season, things changed.
The humans’ technology leaped forward. They reclaimed large parts of lost territory, while you couldn’t seem to stop them. You lost contact with Sollux little over a bilunar perigee ago, and half a season ago you were forced to retreat to an orbiting mass to regroup and possibly attack again. However, it seems that Her Imperious Condescension has different plans. You talked to her yesterday, and the entire dictation was a blur, however, you remember two things:
1- HIC has graciously decided not to have you put to death for incompetence.
2- A more competent and deadly branch is coming to assist you.
And so, you waited, for over a sweep you waited, until finally, these vaunted reinforcements arrived. Upon seeing them these brigades of doom, you would be recorded as saying one thing:
“I truly feel pity for the humans, for until today their think pans could not conceive what terror truly is.”
Okay so maybe I lied about Jade.
