But awesome.  Diamonds is certainly cooler than Spades in the "chill, professional assassin" sense.  I'm not sure which of them is scarier and I heartily approve of this development.

But... if DD gets 12 + 4 prototypes, he gets more awesome than Bec Noir. So it'd probably only be 4, if prototyping does carry over somehow.

More than likely it'll just give him some nice "default" powers the ring comes with, like the bloatware your computer comes with. Except actually useful and not just "BUY THE FULL VERSION OF ME PLEAAAASE ;_;".

I'm still betting that a zero-orb ring gives a generic bonus to your Power Level, but the possibilities here are endless. Maybe it has some special debug properties, to facilitate the cleanup of an infertile unprototyped session? Maybe it causes a divide-by-zero error, literally boosting the wearer to infinity? Maybe Dersite AI is just hardcoded to want the ring, even if it is completely powerless? Maybe possessing it grants DD political power, letting him order lesser dersites to do his bidding? Or the aforementioned Droogquerel theory, of course.

I'm thinking that the ring basically transfers QUEEN status to whoever wears it. I don't think Jack has done anything except slaughter everyone, so I don't think it's out of the picture.


Basically, a ring that makes everyone do what you want would be perfect for Droog. He wouldn't have to lift a finger.

At the Waterworld-front, it seems that the drones have heavy weaponry (built-in?) and maybe support artillery, since there are fires on Roxy's complex. Thats bad news for Dirk, since they could easily shoot his apartment into rubble. Also it's good news: it means the drones are not there to kill him, they are either instructed to capture the kids or are part of some plan, forcing them to act under stress or something.

GCat. Well, shit. That may simply cancel out Jade, but until the God-Tiers arrive, the alphas are basically defenseless.
