So wait, how's Sawtooth going to spend his time traveling the world annihilating any rappers foolish enough to challenge him if it's all ocean-y now?

Where could he be anyway??

Post-Scratch Earth must/must of have/had much bigger ice-caps. Especially considering how much the sea-levels rose after everything went to shit.

Edit: Also, it seems to me that post-scratch worlds/universes in general go to shit.

That's the point; the Scratch seems to ensure that the players are better-prepared for Sburb, and thus more likely to survive and win.

Oh my god, how did I not see this before?
The Scratch is basically like new game+. I kind of wonder if Hussie was going for that or if it just sort of worked out like that.

Well, I believe that some piece of exposition explicitly stated that the purpose of the Scratch was to create a better chance at winning, but I'm not sure if that was Doc Scratch talking about the Trolls' specifically or if it was a more general bit of information.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Now I wonder what a post-scratch version of a world that had already gone to shit before the scratch would be like.

Since the worlds are supposed to originally be created as "paradises" for the victors, I'm not sure they could actually be all that bad.

As to the spoiler, I thought that bit was obvious from the beginning, no? Since he blacked out to "flashback"?
