For some reason related to being in a Void Session, their SBURB overlaps with the furthest ring, and its dream-bubbles. What we're seeing is an Alternate Universe Gamzee who reached God Tier, via a dream bubble. This overlap with the furthest ring is also how the scratched session is able to reach this session.

Except his eyes.  They aren't white voids, so whatever and however he got there, he is not dead.

Plus, he has the scars on his face, so this is probably Alpha-timeline Gamzee.

Gamzee can use everybody else's weapons.  I don't think the time devices are actually weapons, so it's entirely possible that anybody can use them.

I'm going to proffer another possibility that Hussie could pull out of his ass.  That Gamzee's dreamself left Prospit before it was destroyed, or he somehow got his Slab out before same.  Or he is his dreamself, same as Sollux was, and something something similar.

Fuck, I dunno.  I'm just wondering how far Hussie is going to drive a joke into the ground for its own sake this time.

I'm betting that Hussie is going to introduce a way to ascend without having a dreamself, just like he introduced one to ascend without a realself. Simply because he is Hussie and he really wanted to draw God Tier Gamzee. Plus, he needed one if he's ever going to get Jake there, and I strongly suspect he's going to want to do that.
