It's a side-effect of the standard coolkid pose.  When you're always slouching and looking through the tops of your shades, the world is made of asses.

I like Terezi's tenacity, sense of right/wrong, and her impartiality.

And I like her temporary complete lack of these things.  It's entertaining.

It's like they're talking about this stuff for the very first time.

It strains credulity a little, that they've apparently spent less time discussing important matters in the course of a year than they did in one day, but I suppose it's not that bizarre.  Once your life isn't in constant danger and your entire existence is waiting for time to pass, what do you really have to talk about?  It certainly sounds like Rose has been absorbing TrollFacts, and Dave has studiously refused to.  Especially with one guy of seven virtually non-existent, and another who may or may not be able to communicate (I can't wait for the first conversation we see with WV), there's not much to do except be introspective and occasionally react to the mindblowing afterlives they pass through.

Am I the only one who thinks it noteworthy that Kanaya has added lipstick to her daily ensemble?  Above and beyond Dave and Rose foregoing ordinary clothing options.

Actually, I just realized.  It's a visual cue, it means her chainsaw (the normal one anyway) is most definitely on hand.
