We have a tumblr update about LE.

http://mspandrew.tumblr.com/post/12341136347/le-factoids

Hmmm about half the pics he links are broken for me. Going by the link names, Im guessing its the Hulk, Snoop dogg's character from Starsky & Hutch... and something about a lizard?

This is amazing in every way.
Spoiler: Yes, it is (click to show/hide)

Aaand, we have a new winner.  What tumblr is that one from?

The best part about LE is that he is not any less scary now that we see him than the last 5 acts have built him up to be.

I think it really is more that we as The Reader just want him to be worth the hype.  His bit with the end of the Banner nonsense was helpful in building up the concept.  Plus, y'know, man knows how to make an entrance.

I have some much bigger fears about Lord English.  To recap: Doc Scratch insisted that he appears in every universe eventually, to end it.  He is summoned forth by the death of the First Guardian in that universe, who arrives by way of Sburb.  The First Guardian is the host, literally, and also appears in some form in every universe.

The First Guardian is created by Sburb by way of crazy ectobiology crap, a combination of objects and a Crazy Code imparted to any number of players destined to enter the session.  In Alternia's universe, it was created from a book full of clown ranting and a well-traveled Lil' Cal.  This created a First Guardian who looks and kinda acts like Cal with a cueball for a head, and the instantiation of Lord English has elements of Cal's face and design, suggesting he inherits the properties of the creation as well.

I've got this being knot of questions about who's trying to accomplish what, vis a vis Lord English and his Guardians, and the Dark Gods who've made some contradictory influences on the course of the story.  But that's a much bigger writing.

Not quite.

Though they could not recognize it for the bad omen it was, this session was not the one in which they had been spawned. Such is the symptom of a subtle glitch affecting certain sessions, an error designed to trigger an unfathomable cascade of misfortune throughout paradox space. This glitch is the calling card of the one I serve. It is the discreet, gentlemanly manner in which he reserves his place in a universe for later visitation.

English apparently only brings to an end universes that have been reset by a session suffering from a certain glitch, the only known symptom of which is that the original session does not create the players. As far as we can tell, the kid's session isn't suffering from this glitch so their universe isn't on LE's menu.

I'm not going to lie, violin-playing Rose makes me want to punch things.

Or whatever that instrument is supposed to be.  Damn.

IIRC, we last saw her on LOHAC after Rose went grimdark. So, she's probably not dead, just very tiny.

I thought that myself.  It's a great picture, but it's terrible perspective.  Is she trying to play it, or scratch the top of her head?

Dammit, this is the only anime I would watch, why isn't it being made yet?

I think fanartists are a bit worse about showing Jade handling guns that would probably break her shoulders.

And we never get to see the kids with their instruments. I kinda hoped the denizen bits would start some instrumental themes for the kids but nope, not yet.

Nah, I used to play violin in a symphony and spent one summer with 6-8 hours a day adjusting my posture in front of a mirror, so... it is a major sore spot =/

My sister has been playing that and the Viola for her whole life and she's an artist, I know how sore people can get over poor depictions of proper handling. :P

And Aqizzar almost drops a hint that he has watched anime. In other news the Lizard Man has become the most important character in the story and adopted lizards may or may not be alive. More at 11:00.

Actually Uryuu would probably make the best Vriska in that.
