I don't get why so many people are fine with Dave ascending, but complain about Rose because she
has no extra dreamself nor any shenanigans with which to ascend[...]
Rose and Dave ARE (were) their dreamselves. Both of them died, both of them revived on Derse as their dreamselves. Both of them then died on their Quest Beds, thus ascending. Where's the issue?
The issue is that the standard method involves having a spare dreamself/body to Ascend into. Apparently there's an exception if you die in the core of Derse on a quest slab when out of bodies, though, so meh. It's a little asspully, but since it's happened more than one it's probably considered a proper Mechanic.
And I thought Dave still had a dreamself somewhere away from the attention, or something. Gee.
But seeing as how Jade inherited her dreamselfhoundguide's characteristics, why didn't Dave, and more importantly, why isn't Rose permanently dead? It's been established that as she has no extra dreamself nor any shenanigans with which to ascend, so why this (and why the pale skin)?
Why didn't Dave inherit Davesprites characteristics? Davesprite =/= Dream Dave. It was alternate timeline Dave. They both survived presumably because they used the same kind of reverse-resurrection-asspull technique that Aradia used, since their quest beds were in dreamland. The pale skin is a stylistic choice that Hussie uses all the time.
Or grey skin, rather, but alright. That makes sense, thanks.
I just noticed that Dave's God-Tier outfit includes sollerets on his shoes. That's awesome.
Hmm... You don't suppose that's Jade's ears are part of the outfit do you? Not like sewn on, but just part of the appearance. The Trolls got fully functional bug-wings, even though they are not a winged species (normally), and they appeared and disappeared with the outfits. Maybe when Jade takes off the God-Cloak, the ears disappear.
The wings on the troll outfit are, I presume, just part of their God-Tier outfit. Since Jade literally ascended into her dog-hybrid guide (thus "killing" her dreamself permanently, yay), it'll probably be part of
her instead.
I do have a few questions from it, for those with enough knowledge to answer them: The two pale figures in the red and purple God Tier are, I assume, God Tier Rose and Dave. But seeing as how Jade inherited her dreamselfhoundguide's characteristics, why didn't Dave, and more importantly, why isn't Rose permanently dead? It's been established that as she has no extra dreamself nor any shenanigans with which to ascend, so why this (and why the pale skin)?
They went down into the core of Derse's moon. You saw those slab things they were standing on, right? It's the same as what Aradia was laying on when she revived. I guess as one final option, if a player runs out of other chances, dying on the Quest Tomb in the heart of the moon also makes a God-Revive. They were standing on the Tombs when the bomb obliterated them, so they instant revived.

Also, seeing as the Alternian universe has presumably been destroyed with Snowman's demise, and that both Dave and Rose seem to have been transported there, have they all been destroyed along with it?
They ascended the same way Aradia ascended. They were on the quest beds located on the middle of Derse's moon, and died when it blew up, like Aradia's dreamself did. That caused them to ascend to God-tier. They are pale because that's how humans are always drawn in this comic, with chalk white skin. They are not in the Troll's universe. They are at the Green Sun.
Right-o, thanks muchly. The Aradia incident never occurred to me as an explanation.
