Do we still have to talk in spoilers? How long do we need to talk in spoilers?
EVERYBODY LINE UP
John - Is God Tier, riding on a Golden Battleship with Jade.
Dave - Raced into space in the nick of time, killed DD, went down to Derse's basement and found his God Junk. Has arrived at the Sun with the Bomb.
Rose - Was not killed by DD, ditto everything for Dave.
Future/Bird!Dave - Is microscopic, riding on the semi-saved remains of a tiny little Skaia.
Dream/Dog!Jade - Ceased to exist, possibly merged with Jade Prime.
White King - Dead as disco.
White Queen - Dead as a doorknob.
Aimless Renegade - Dead as dishwater.
Wandering Vagabond - X to 2422 - Rest in peace muchacho.
Peregrine Mendicant - Female!Jack, in Troll Incipisphere, and pissed as all get out.
Jack Noir - In Troll Incipisphere, near core and PM. Now we know what drove him off the deep end at least, he lost all respect for the world or reason for living.
Courtyard Droll - Atomized.
Spades Slick - Reached the hatesex grandslam. Probably about to cease to exist.
Snowman - Shot through the heart, 'cause they're both too vain.
Probably Everybody Else in Greentown - Divided between the dead and the soon-to-be-gone.
Gamzee - Still crazy, doing crazy shit.
Kanaya - Still fabulous.
Karkat - Still confused, still infatuated.
Terezi - Still blind. (Best part of the whole flash.)
Half of Sollux - Has become the Navigator, might engine himself to death.
Aradia - Still inscrutible, hasn't actually done anything except stare at a sun, now greeting Rose and Dave as the first Trolls and Human to meet face to face.
Other Half of Sollux - Not doing a damn thing. (How does he even work?)
All Other Trolls - Still disincorporated ghost memories, floating around somewhere.
Doc Scratch - Dead? Maybe? I don't know what happened there, but apparently he played the long-bomb prank on everybody, exactly as expected.
Lil' Cal - Still creepy and totally inanimate. I'm sure of it.
Lord English = Still unseen, possibly not for long.
Andrew Hussie - Unseen for now, possibly not for long, if that window goes where it looks like it goes.
Jade - Is fucking GOD. And has puppy ears, and possibly other aspects of the Dog/God/Dreamself she subsumed.
GG: woof... >:B
All I can say, outside of spoilers is, I expected the End of Act extravaganza to wrap up every loose thread remaining. It
almost did, and for it's worth, it wrapped up everything that could possibly matter. And the other thing I expected it to do was leaving hanging the ultimate question:
What happens next? The question that's been driving me to read the damn thing through every awful twist and turn.
Once again, Hussie proved himself a master of shattering my expectations and stringing me along, without driving me away. I expected it to have solemnity and gravity, it had both in spades. I didn't conceive of almost anything that happened, but (almost) all of it makes total sense. And I cannot fucking wait to see what's coming. Even though I know it means the end is near. It's just that good.
Mainly, how did Jack get into that withered flower / dark capsule thing in the Dog Temple? I don't remember ever seeing that flower in there before. Was he in the meteor that originally made the temple, is that what happened? If that's the case, where did the temples of Alternia come from, or is that standard and Jack just hitched a ride to Earth?
Also, no mention of the Condesce. Yeah, Hussie pretty much said "she's Betty Crocker, for reals", but I'd kinda like to know how.
And I guess I don't get what if anything Doc Scratch was doing, but that's kind of a moot point.
I know this though. Every single person who wrote a post-game fanfic (mine's never made it out of my head), or drew fanart of possible future situations (especially of one person in particular) is going to be so pissed that all their hard work just got blown away.
And now, to wait for more fanart to roll in (oh boy, it's already started). Hopefully, the flash assets are released first, those were some
fantastic portraits, just a pity The Big Show was about as well animated as Metalocalypse without the detail.
