That is indeed a Tavros body pillow. It creates a rather interesting effect when placed immediately after the comic like it is.

In light of the new evidence, yes.

I don't think it'd be too far out of Karkat's character to just give up hope when he's positive that he's lost.

Also, I think while it may be somewhat obvious, Gamzee flipping out and going on a killing spree was a constant throughout the timelines, doomed and otherwise. That is somewhat unsettling.
