[commentary continued from previous spoiler]... That is one of my weaknesses, not wanting to erase things.
I attempted to give it a watercolored effect. I figured it'd be appropriate since they're Zora/sea-dwellers who are underwater and were inspired by the water temple music. What better time to try out that watercolor-esque technique (as seen in the giant exiles drawing) I discovered?
All this talk of watercolor and Feferi reminds me of
this picture.
Geez, I went all out with Feferi, but Eridan was just too much, especially since there was literally no space left for even his feet. I had to move some stuff and improvise just to draw them. I even had to erase one of Feferi's legs just to fit him in there at all.
And I guess his hip fins are tucked away underneath his shirt and pants and he left his cape and scarf at home or something. I can't draw those kind glasses for shit, but thankfully, I somehow managed to. He's already lacking defining clothing characteristics as it is. The only reason I thought to put that purple streak on his head was because I was trying to think of what other characteristics there were in case there were any I could try to add.
...Oh godammit it looks like he's wearing freakin' eyeliner. Oh well. I'm dedicated to getting unimportant details right, like
what rings were on which fingers, so I left it as is.
Then again, considering that it's him, I... guess that's appropriate? Though his feminine features aren't helping the situation.
And
his head dolphin looked like a smiling tulip with cheeks until halfway through making the picture. Actually, more like a piranha plant. Or a duck. Or the Minish Cap thing from that game I've never played.
