Litrichean Rioghail is making me crazy. The melody that starts at ~0:55, is more prominent at 1:36, and finally ends at 2:12 is so familiar and yet so far away. It sounds like it could be video game music or more likely a folk tune originating in the British Isles. I know exactly what it is though, I just can't remember and it makes me so crazy. And at 2:55, there's a bit of Explore in there until around 3:30. Then, that maddeningly familiar tune returns until the end of the song. Please help me out :u
I think I know what you're talking about. I didn't know the name until just now, but if I'm hearing the same thing you are, then I think you're hearing a song called The Irish Washerwoman. Kinda hard to tell at because of the difference in pitch and abundance of extraneous notes and speed, but switch between the two every few seconds and you'll hear the resemblance. Or at least I did, anyway, though I'm still not sure because the notes in the Youtube link sound kinda off. But who knows, maybe they're just at a different chord or something; I don't study music so I'm not able to detect stuff like that.
All that being said, if anyone finds something closer-sounding to Litrichean Rioghail than The Irish Washerwoman (or the latter song in a more similar pitch or whatever to the former), then I'd like to hear it because as far as I'm concerned, this isn't a definitive answer so much as it is an answer I can settle on.

Addendum: If anyone does go on a hunt for a more fitting song, then I suggest searching things like "stereotypical irish music" or something, since that tune is pretty well known and all mostly for its Irishness.

I still think that bit in gilded sands(1:02) sounds like the stone tower from majora's mask.

Jim was right, that is exactly what my ears were thinking of when they heard it. Only the name had escaped them.

I don't see how Dad could be resurrected if he never played Sburb. He killed imps and alchemized, yes, but he was only a guest in John's game. Were he a player we would've seen a fifth sprite or fifth prototype. And why is there a quest bed on Skaia when quest beds are only found on their hero's worlds? It's possible that this might be some sort of hidden, one-size-fits-all quest bed for players who didn't get a chance to ascend before moving on, but I'd doubt it. I'm not saying there won't be a resurrection followed by a tearful father/son reunion, I'm just saying that it doesn't make sense. I'm going to be pissed off if he comes back with no explanation, so Hussie had better make with the exposition before he tries something like this

How the hell did WV? make it to Earth?

Perhaps more immediately relevant, how did Liv Tyler make it to Derse?

I'll guess that what's left of the ship fall into one of those Skaian defense portals and take WV? with it.

One of us is missing something.  Either you're actually talking about Dad and I missed the part where he ended up on a quest bed, or you've mistaken Fedorafreak for Dad, which is odd, because Nanna specifically says she's the mother of the person he thinks he's talking to.  Also, I remember reading somewhere that dying on a quest bed causes your real and dream selves to combine and awaken on your quest bed on Skaia, or a quest bed on Skaia.  So there's at least one, and possibly one for each actual player.

I'm not sure he's actually on Skaia, but I stopped being able to actually read what was going on pretty early.  I had to read the part about a bed 3 times before I realized "flat surface+four pillars+strange iconography=quest bed."  His text color is just mind numbing.  I suppose it's the most likely location in the kid's universe though.  I'm also open to the possibility that he's in a seperate universe but still able to communicate in a method Pipefan can receive.  If that's the case though, sounds like he wasn't able to get his client in.

As for my own opinions on what's going on.  Hehe, looks like Eridan wasn't the only one to kill parts of the game trying to help him.  CD is just amusingly bad at his job.  And OH NO WV LOOK OUT!

Another update is up. The one with WV.

Oh, people are already talking about it. How did I miss that?

Hrm. Litrichean is the plural of litir in Scottish Gaelic. Litir means approximately "letter". Rioghail can be translated to "royal". So I guess this is Prospitian Monarch's theme. It's rather fascinating :o and applesauce, I feel like that's really close but not it :c thanks though!

Yeah, that's not it.  I don't know what it is, but whatever it is I've probably played it on violin before =/

Your sig, man. I think this is the first time I've ever been quoted in someone's sig before on this forum. This makes me happy.
