Before it was revealed that Diamonds Droog was Aradia's exile, it was theorized that he would be Kanaya's exile, due to interests in being well-dressed.

And then after it was revealed everybody did a bunch of stuff featuring Diamonds Droog taking on a fatherly role to Aradia.

So that's what's with that.

I hadn't replied because I'm less a shipper and more a... supporter? No, it's like... I'm 0kay with it. When I think of the word "shipping", I think of it as meaning putting together two characters in a romantic way that isn't canon. As far as I know, there isn't a precise and exact definition for the word out there.

Seems most of the art is either old stuff or based around old updates, which is fortunate for me.

 That tumblr thing with Aradias ancestor and Darkleer is sorta off-putting to me. The ancestors thing is that they are different from their descendants. That artist is portraying Equius and Aradia as adults, as that is pretty much their relationship. Granted the ancestors were made pretty much for this stuff, and at least that artist isn't dumping a metric ton of fan lesbians.
