If you have gills on the outside, like the trolls, Bubblebaths would be torture. Also: Do you know whats in water? Thousands of parasites. Fish waste. Chlorine? Prepare to have your lungs be set on fire!

Yeah, still would be pretty awesome to breath/hear through water.
I was saying that the ability was awesome, not the fact that he was supposedly underneath a filthy pond apparently inhabited by water flies. You do bring up a good point, though. Breathing with gills would just be all around torture because of parasites (among other things, of course). Being able to breathe without gills... well, sounds awesome in general, but in no way awesome realistically. Like mind reading. Breathing underwater sans gills could have the same drawbacks as gills, or maybe not, depending on how that works since a dual cardiovascular system isn't exactly a straightforward concept design-wise. However, with or without those drawbacks, the possibility of it backfiring is pretty frightening. I can think of two four different ways it could backfire, all of them similar, and all of them resulting in death by drowning/suffocating.

Just fill the pond with hyperoxygenated water and be done with it, man.

As long as I'm still awake, I might as well derail this nonsense with some all-Derse player images, in honor of whichever of the players from Derse might die in the near future.

Spoiler: It's mostly Rose (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Also Dave (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Sibling Rivalry (click to show/hide)

Any bets on which one of them is going to bite the bullet?  I bet it's Dave, being a total jerk and then sacrificing himself, only to be replaced by a version of himself that doesn't know anything, would be the absolute pinnacle of irony.  Or something.

That first picture with Rose. The art style is so familiar but I can't figure out why, and it is so incredibly annoying.

As for who dies, if it's not both, a possibility that can't be entirely ruled out... I don't know. I kind of want to go with Dave. He's already shown he's willing to die to save the others (even if it was Future!Dave at the time (because come on he had to know paradox space was going to kill him by then)), and there's also how he'd be willingly sacrificing himself after being so careful to avoid piling up his own corpses.

I would not be incredibly surprised if it was Rose, but I can't quite articulate my thoughts on that at the moment.

Possibly my favourite image out of the whole art-dump. I especially like the right wing at the bottom there.

I actually think Aradia might be the one to die with the bomb, or at least execute the plan. After all, she's already AT the green sun, plus she hasn't properly died yet. It make sense that if either Dave or Rose take the bomb there, they would run into Aradia.

Besides, it would be like Hussie to make the story so symmetrical.

And it would be a major tearjerker- I mean, she just started being alive again 16 hours ago or so!

And it would be appropriate. I mean, the series kinda started with her death.

My bet? Neither. They go, and one gets ready to sacrifice themselves to destroy the sun, and then Aradia happens. Her being in the furthest ring and messing around in the dream bubbles didn't stop being a thing. She shows up when the tumor is thrown into the sun, and takes them back in time with her, so they can avoid the blast. Though Hussie can easily make so she can't help and either Rose or Dave have to sacrifice themselves, I can hope damnit.

I doubt he'll kill off a human.

But we're fucked anyhow. Unless humanity is in the same species as trolls, humanity is ready to die out. Trollkind may yet survive, but with only 4 sets of genes humanity is pretty screwed.
