I didn't bail out of a something I said I'd make this time. There's not really any heated discussion going on right now, so I'll just leave this here.

If I had nightmares I think that would be a prominent part of them.

What did you do?
WHAT DID YOU DO?!

Oh yeah, nightmares.  Dreams... If you don't have dreams, it's probably because of how long you sleep.  The longer you're asleep, the more rapidly you enter REM cycles.  Or something like that.  For me at least, if I get like 5-6 hours of sleep, I don't dream.  But when I get to sleep in, and I get like 8 hours of sleep and an extra half hour of drifting in and out, it's pretty much just constant shifting dreams at the end.

That drifting thing, that right there is the best sleep. I haven't really ben keeping track of how long/what time I go to sleep, but I won't be having a strict sleep schedule, or one at all for that matter, for a while, so I'll keep that in mind and try to take some mental notes on how my length of sleep correlates to dreams.
What's weird about my dreams is that if I don't wake up abruptly from a vivid/involved moment in a dream, when I wake up, I'm not even thinking about them. Then later in the day, I inexplicably remember parts of the dream and think, EVEREY fucking time, "wow that was a weird dream". I've never remembered a dream in that manner without at least using the last five words in that phrase.

I only remember dreams when I make a mental note of remembering this dream, and I only remember it for more than a day if I write it down.

That's true for almost everything I remember. For example, I don't remember exactly what kiwis taste like, but I remember myself one time thinking, "I like kiwis and all, but I guess I don't like them anymore because they've been tasting gross lately". So I think I like kiwis, but would rather not even eat them, even though I haven't eaten any in at least four years.
