The worker bee stingers are modified ovipositors. Instead of firing eggs, these have been modified with venom glands. Queen bees have separate stingers that aren't associated with their egg-laying organs. Worker bees are only based on the female model, and are not actually female for all intents and purposes. They abandoned sex for the defense and protection of their homes and species.

So when a bee is stinging you, it is getting all up in your junk with its junk.
