There is a difference between him dicking around and being obtuse and him giving decent info about the story. This seems like a genuine thing, and it would be kinda lame for all the deaths to actually have no meaning to them with a simple story trick. Even Aqizzars point about how the deaths still do have a meaning would be invalidated, as they wouldn't be our characters anymore but some vast cosmic majority that was doomed anyway and have no bearing on the alpha plot.

When Vriska made John fall asleep and forced Bec to become Becsprite (and then the power-up of Bec Noir) she made it clear that she intended to end the problem as well. From that point on, the Trollsteroid (I like that... I claim that) was doomed.

So everyone on it was dead anyway, Noir had no problem wiping it out. Hence, the entire sober!Gamzee murdering arc was pointless. Or, there's something going on that we don't know about. Like, where's Jadesprite? Where's Aradia? Was future Karkat (the memo FCG) spending his trolling time taunting himself in the past while typing in a room full of corpses?

I did some looking in the archive. I can't find the FCG pesterlogs from future Karkat's perspective, where it seems he's trying to contact future Jade, presumably about whatever The Plan is. As far as I can tell, Karkat just loses his shit and runs to the lab, contacts Equius re Gamzee, then the honking murderspree.

That seems to imply that we are, in fact, watching a doomed timeline, as corpse Dave from his dead coinflip outcome could talk to rap-off with dead Tavros. This would explain where Aradia has been (in the alternate dead future memory bubbles), and since we're in one of Doc's blind spots, he could have easily taken the dead timeline dreambook and extrapolated a non-alpha outcome. We're getting near his death, so his omniscience is running out.

Anyway, that's one theory. May not be true, but it fits a lot more facts than the two fallow universes and a meaningless resolution to months of plot.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Then what's the guarantee that we aren't just watching a briefly extended alternate timeline, as I posited earlier? As said, with rose dead both universes are unwinnable and the humans (at least John) are working towards a scratch and (all the stuff I said before). This all started with a coin flip, the same as Terezi giving Dave his god tier lesson. It just seems too simple to have things stand as they are and be the alpha solution, I don't quite buy it yet.

The human universe was always going to be unwinnable, that's why they have to reset it so that somebody else can play to make it winnable.  And the troll universe isn't unwinnable because they already won, they just didn't claim the ultimate reward.  And the coin flip didn't matter because there was always only one way it could turn out.

Curious about the dream bubbles though.  Gonna have to read that again tomorrow maybe, since I need to sleep right now.  But I also need to figure out where I read that made me think the tick tock sound was important.

If the coin flip did create an offshoot timeline where Vriska decided to lose for whatever reason it would be an odd little thing that could happen. The implications are interesting, and it would mean Doc Scratch was just dicking with us by telling us about this doomed timeline.

It seems like at this point most plot important objects have blood on them.  Jack's arm, Needlekind, the glasses, the characters' severed body parts, the characters...

Oh shit fire.

At least he didn't see that one coming.  Maybe flipping all his stuff burn-ways will destroy causal-predestination.  And maybe Vriska will sparkle-fart her way to another universe, free of murderous one-armed dogmen.

I wonder where that light is coming from, through the cracks of a severed door.  What could be behind it now?
