 Nah, this is actually a pretty good setup for Vriskas death.

 She was pretty shaken up by Tavroses death. When she was orchestrating Jacks ascension she was a bit of a different person than who she was when she left. The death of her friends will just further show the stupid things she has done and further her self-doubt. She will be in a state to make a critical decision: Stay with what she was bred to grow up into and continue to face these stupid moves or decide who she wants to grow up into.

 And die a martyrs death trying to save her friends.
