It's so frustrating that there are people that don't LIKE Homestuck. My friend and I seem to like almost all the same stuff, but she loathes Homestuck and I... well, even a complete lack of talent can't stop my churning out fanart.

I just wonder, how can they not enjoy it? Is there something they're just overlooking?

I've felt more emotional over some Homestuck deaths then some deaths in the family.

This being Homestuck, I'm not sure whether that's post-scratch Rose or Vriska with a wig.

I have to hand it to Hussie, this shit is engrossing. In my Literature class the other day, we were discussing the emotional conveyance of some Literature, yo, and I had to catch myself before I likened it to parts of Homestuck. Fucking epic saga man.

You should try it. :p

Ask her?

The only people I know who don't like Homestuck have never read it and just hate me talking about it. :p

I love it, and I gotta say that there are a lot of problems through the story, especially from an archive readers perspective. My sister couldn't get into it 'till one of her friends forced her to go through act1, where she started to take an interest. Right up 'till the troll arc, where you suddenly have a ton of chatlogs about mysterious bullshit in typing quirks for characters you don't care about because shit what happened with John and Jade and Rose and Dave?! You only really start caring for the trolls around the end of their arc as they have had some moments together.

To go back act 1 is kind of a pain to go through, there is a lot of time bullshit people don't care for, Daves irony takes a while to stop being infuriatingly stupid, Jade doesn't do a goddam thing until she enters the medium, Rose just sort of stops being important until you see her in the Punisher dress and the Felt intermission is just a time waster.

 I could go on.

It's a mark of a good thing when none of this matters to some people.

The main thing for me is people didn't like all the reading, which is a pretty unsolvable complaint.

True. I had trouble wading through Act 1 the first time, but I've since reread it and appreciate it a lot more.

And, yeah. The troll arc is irritating until you get how awesome the characters are. Equius and Nepeta definitely made it managable, though. They should probably have been introduced earlier in the arc because their dialog and actions are genuinely hilarious.

Despite Hussie's best attempts to keep us on our toes I've kind of stopped caring because death so far in the story has been mostly a complete joke. We can never be certain we've seen the last of a character, to such a degree that even if it was played straight and somebody just died it wouldn't trigger much.

I'm voting that the destruction of the Green Sun will restore Jade to life.

All three of the ad spaces are now for the same electronic cigarette. I don't know why this pisses me off, it just does.

In the city near me, they've started approaching people trying to sell them.

THAT pisses me off. My friend is underaged for smoking and she was approached by them and they even tried to force her to try it out before she threatened to report them to the police.

J-jade's dead?

I dunno, death never really bothered me. It's been pretty clear that he doesn't need death to mean anything when he doesn't want it to. And even if he does the fandom is so split that it's a futile effort. Half the fandom didn't give a single fuck over what Jade did in Descend, and those people are pricks. I dunno, death not meaning anything doesn't seem to be a problem to me. A problem people keep pointing out perhaps for legitimate reasons, but I dunno.

I've felt this way for so long now, which is why I almost never really feel SUPER EMOTIONAL over deaths. It's really hard for me too. I did in [S] Descend and when John was first killed, but I really feel more during the bulidup toward deaths than the deaths themselves, and even then there's not too much "buildup" in the sense that it's stated that it's going to happen sometime prior.
