Also, you make the presumption that they ARE breasts. Seeing as how trolls are distinctly non-mammalian, their purpose is probably not tied to any reproductive purpose. With that in mind, seeing as how violent and warlike troll society is, there is the distinct and real possibility that they serve a malevolent natural purpose.

They are actually mounted cannons. They can be present anywhere on a Troll's body, and in fact would make Astro Boy a normal, healthy member of Troll society.

I mean, my squeamishness is more weathered by the internet than I'm willing to admit even on the internet, but I still don't feel comfortable with the highly likely prospect of reading about people talking about what their breasts were like when they were in middle school.

Just saying, it's totally possible.  I, too, do not want to talk about middle-school-boobs, but suffice to say that I probably spent a hell of a lot more time looking at them than most of you (save AM, who apparently just didn't pay much attention in the girls' locker room), and the "growth rates" aren't weird at all.
