Something smells "funny"

Was that a joke? I believe it was.

Holy crap, Hussie actually drew that FF6 interior in his comic style.  That's actually really cool, if kinda weird.

Gamzee's wildcard specibus seems to include provision for PuppetKind.  He really is a joke character, his combat stats are utterly broken.

It seems puppetkind grants you the ability to manipulate the puppet at insane speeds. $5000 on a Bro fight reference soon.

And holy crap. Moves this sick cannot be contained.

And damn you Toony! I can't keep Sanji out of my head looking at this.

Yeah, tradition there is whenever a thread reaches 100 pages, it's locked and a new one is made. They are currently on their 28th fanart thread.
It's not just a tradition, I think. While it might be different for MSPA's forums, vBulletin (which is what they're using) actually starts acting weird (so I am told) if threads get beyond 100 pages. What "weird" entails in this context, I do not know, but that's probably the actual reason. Rather than just tradition. Admittedly, given what little I know about the forums themselves it might end up continuing even if that problem stopped existing but whatever.

Gamzee's gotten awfully fast.

Actually, I heard that it used to be like that for their forums, ever since they had a forum move a while back, the threads can go beyond 100 pages without the forums breaking, or whatever happened. They don't need to do it anymore, but still do it out of tradition.

Also, another update.

Well that's just terribly unsurprising. Which fits both this exchange and the update.

I wonder what's in the chests.

Man, the whole time I was reading the archives, I kept thinking that it would make the world's best RPG.

Probably not.  But it makes me want to create something.

I wonder what would happen if Terezi just vaulted over the counter.  It's not exactly beyond her abilities, compared to the usual RPG protagonist.

Probably not.  But it makes me want to create something.

You and about a billion other people.  There's a couple of fangames-in-progress on the MSPA forums, but they're confined mostly to mockups for a very Final-Fantasy style fulfillment of Hussie's bluff about NepetaQuest 2011.  And considering that started months ago and I haven't heard anything about it since, I've got my theories.

I wrote a brief design document for a slightly more simple idea a long time ago, but whatever.

And yet...

It would be the world's best RPG if only because it would be the world's last RPG. And then you can't argue anything is better than it because everyone is dead.

Not quite what you meant. Yeah, making it work would be a headache. Combinatorial explosion is problematic with just a small number of items, but when you can combine things and then combine them with the combination, and do it in two different ways? Or more, depending on how long the chain is? That would be a horrible task to tackle. And that's just one issue.

I suppose one could address alchemization by limiting what one can use, but that feels too restrictive for this particular setting...
