I think they helped eachother out enough, and I think Vriska only started to cripple Tavros when Terezi stopped being a Scourge Sister.

Yeah, but not like moirails. They weren't doing much to keep each other out of trouble. Terezi probably wanted Vriska to stop killing trolls who didn't deserve it, but she didn't really mind her trafficking with cue ball headed moon oracles. They were just friends. Which I guess translates roughly to "someone you are allied with and have no immediate plans for betraying".

Also they only stopped flarping together after Vriska made Tavros leap off a cliff for giggles.

Moirails is "Somebody to watch your back.". Nobody fits that more than Vriska and Terezi.

A moirallegiance involves a more stable troll balancing and pacifying a less stable, more violent troll, resulting in a bit more peace. The moirail's presence and interaction with the less stable troll keeps the latter from going and turning into an unstable psychopath. More so than normal.

Moireallegiance keeps particularly angry and quick-tempered trolls from being a particular threat to themselves and others, beyond what is normal for a troll. Terezi may have been something of a friend of Vriska's to some extent, but I would not view her as Vriska's moirail, personally speaking.

Well, I guess they also watch out for each other. Equius is too violent and crazy, which is why it's good he's got Nepeta looking after him. Nepeta isn't violent and crazy enough, and would surely fall prey to some other troll (I'M TALKING ABOUT VRISKA) if it wasn't for Equius keeping her safe. Same with Eridan and Feferi before they broke up. She tries to stop him from killing all the land dwellers, he feeds her lusus. There's been nothing hinting that Terezi and Vriska were anything like that.
