As it's been implied the whole time, the horrorterrors have their own goals, but aren't necessarily evil.

edit: Speaking of the potential captchalogue retcon from a while ago... how come the captchalogue cards functioned even without the SBURB client/server installed for the user of them? Are they laws of the universe? After all, most abilities of the players only open up once a SBURB session has been started. Such as, say, using those captchalogue cards as intended: in alchemy. Or can we assume all of the characters had a SBURB client installed on their computers even before the story starts, at their perspective?

They seem to be widely used. Jade's grandpa even bought her a modus set for christmas. They are intended for alchemy, but seem to be widely used on Earth. I'm willing to bet that all planets destined for Sburb eventually develop sylladex tech before the game begins.

Can Rose trust the magic cue ball?

Obviously she's going to get different opinions about what she should be doing. So whose goals is she fulfilling by following the magic cue ball, and why would that be the right course of action?

Two questions this raises.  One: Terezi is also a Seer; can she smell through objects?  Then again, the symbol suggests it's a Light-based power rather than a Seer-power, hence the whole truth-and-lies business.

Other question: What exactly are these cue-balls?  Are they actually part of Scratch?  Is she effectively asking him questions that he can't not answer?

And the only other character that's been able to read them was the Thief of Light, so it being a Light based power does make sense.
